In a time when public events are scarce and cabin fever is at an all time high, its nice to see some organizations in the Houston area creating and producing events that we can do with (or without) the whole family that are fun, somewhat safe, and allow us to spend some valuable time with the people we love outside the four walls of our home. Roller skating has remained a highly enjoyable activity the world over for many decades now, with a massive spike in the 1970s and 80s, and is now gaining traction again as a desirable way to enjoy time with friends and family, get a little exercise and get the blood flowing.
The folks at Discovery Green in Downtown Houston have turned the rink that we all know from the holidays as the Houston's favorite outdoor ice skating rink, into Houston's most enjoyable roller skating rink. Discovery Green is encouraging Houstonians to get outside and make a special memory with your family this spring. Glide beneath the glittering lights of downtown in the center of the beautiful 12-acre park at Discovery Green. It doesn't matter if you are a roller disco pro or have never strapped on a pair of skates, everyone is welcome to take their spins around the rink downtown.
Tickets are $12 per person and includes skate rental. Tickets go on sale Tuesday, Feb 9.
