Elected officials including State Representative Dan Huberty, Mayor Pro-Tem Dave Martin and community leaders will deliver updates on local schools, projects, and community developments at the Kingwood BizCom presented by HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood and Redemption Square at Generation Park.
Business professionals and area residents are invited to hear announcements and progress made on local projects in the Kingwood area at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 8 via Zoom. This event is free of charge for those who RSVP on LakeHouston.org.
Featured speakers and topics include:
- State Representative Dan Huberty, District 127 to provide information on proposed bill HB 2525 in the 87th Texas Legislature, indefinitely funding the dredging in Lake Houston and serve as a source of drinking water for Houston
- Mayor Pro-Tem Dave Martin, City of Houston to share updates on ongoing City of Houston projects, tips on hurricane preparedness, covering drainage and updates on Covid vaccine availability
- Commander Larry Baimbridge, Houston Police Department to announce new HPD Kingwood leadership position
- Chairman Stan Sarman, Lake Houston Redevelopment Authority to provide information on the Northpark Drive overpass project nearing final approvals
- Superintendent Dr. Elizabeth Fagen, HumbleISD to present information on the groundbreaking of the Kingwood Agricultural Science Center, flood mitigation efforts at Kingwood High School, and the new Transportation Center
- Principal Dr. Michael Nasara, Kingwood High School to share information about the Moonshot initiative in which all students complete one internship with local businesses before graduation
