The Houston Zoo is kicking off its 100-year anniversary with a birthday party extravaganza on April 30. Upon arrival to the day-long celebration guests will be greeted by animal ambassadors and learn how they can help save their wild counterparts, along with other surprises in the front plaza. Guest speakers will take the stage near the reflection pool at 10 a.m. followed by family-friendly entertainment. Guests will have the opportunity to learn more about the Zoo’s 100-year history by attending one of two simultaneous centennial-themed keeper chats every half hour, beginning at 10:30 a.m., hosted at different animal exhibits. Other activities include Zoo history trivia, birdhouse crafts and live ice carving.
