Hometown Heroes Park will soon be getting two new amenities—a running trail and obstacle course. To celebrate, League City is hosting a 5K fun run, ribbon cutting, and a family-friendly event to honor the city's first responders and members of the armed forces.
On Sunday, May 22, starting at 9 a.m., citizens are invited to participate in a 5K walk/run along the new decomposed granite trail that loops Hometown Heroes Park. All runners/walkers who register at https://runsignup.com/Race/TX/LeagueCity/RedWhiteaBlueTopGun5K will receive a complimentary t-shirt and medal. All proceeds from the race will go to the League City Blue Santa Program, which provides gifts to less fortunate families in our community during the holiday season. The race will run from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., with staggered start times for different categories.
