Constellation Field is set to host a Launch Party from 4-7 p.m. on Jan. 29 in which the Houston Astros will publicly announce the new brand for its Triple A franchise, The Skeeters, in Sugar Land. The re-branding of the Triple A franchise in Sugar Land will take effect immediately. Unless you have been hiding under a rock, you have likely heard that the new name for the Skeeters will be, drumroll please....The Space Cowboys.

A presentation of the new brand, including a mascot introduction, logos and uniforms, will kick off the event. The Launch Party will serve as the first opportunity for fans to purchase merchandise with the new branding. The Constellation Field Team Store will be open throughout the event and merchandise will be available for purchase online through the team’s official website.

Tickets for the Launch Party will be $1, and proceeds will benefit the Astros Foundation. Fans can purchase tickets to the Launch Party by visiting sugarlandskeeters.com/events.

An announcement regarding a pre-season exhibition at Constellation Field will also be made during the Launch Party. Astros officials will provide updates regarding renovations currently taking place at Constellation Field that will be completed prior to the beginning of the 2022 season as well.

The Launch Party will include the following programming:

The Astros purchased the Sugar Land Skeeters prior to the 2021 season and named them as their Triple A franchise. The Skeeters were members of the independent Atlantic League of Professional Baseball from 2012-20.

The Sugar Land Space Cowboys franchise is set to begin its season on April 5 with a road series against the Sacramento River Cats and will host its home opener on April 12 vs. the Round Rock Express.
