Celebrating its 40 years of service to Houston and Texas, Crime Stoppers of Houston will host its annual Houston’s Heroes Awards Luncheon on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 from 11:30am – 1:00pm at the Royal Sonesta Houston Hotel to honor outstanding individuals and organizations who have given exemplary service to make Houston a safer place to live, work, learn and play. Due to the public health threat from Covid-19 and the current health and safety protocols, we will offer both an in-person event with limited seating as well as virtual access for sponsors and supporters to participate from home. While Crime Stoppers had to cancel this event last Spring due to the pandemic, the organization is unable to do so this year and reminds the community that it relies on this event for funding.

With tremendous thanks, Crime Stoppers of Houston is excited to announce Aramco Americas as the Presenting Partner of the event.

“Houston is a safe city thanks to the dedication of so many organizations and people working together for its benefit,” said Nabeel AlAfaleg, President andamp; CEO of Aramco Americas. “We are a longtime supporter of Crime Stoppers of Houston and appreciate its continued dedication to a city we have called home for nearly 50 years.”

Crime Stoppers of Houston is thrilled to honor the following Houston Heroes honorees who have each proven to be positive contributors to our community through their long-standing support of crime prevention and public safety initiatives that make Houston, and Texas, safer for all:

The Johnny Klevenhagen Award – Commander James Dale, Houston Police Department Vice Division

The Fenner Weller – State Representative Jim Murphy

The Leiv Platou Award – Hazem Ahmed, Crime Stoppers Board Member

The Corporate Citizen Award – H-E-B

The Safe School Award – Jerri Duddlesten Moore

The Women Who Shape Houston Award – Brigitte Kalai

The Partner of the Year Award – Lawrence and Linda Levy

For the second year, Crime Stoppers of Houston will reveal the winner of the Dave Ward Media Excellence Award. This unique award will honor an entity or individual who has exhibited media excellence and will be selected by Houston’s Media Icon Dave Ward himself, along with support from a small committee of his constituents at Crime Stoppers of Houston. The best part - the winner will be kept a secret and not revealed until the day of luncheon on May 4th!

“Crime is an issue we all care about but inherently want to stay away from. The people we honor at this luncheon have put their personal discomforts aside to proactively and very selflessly get involved with the hopes of making a difference for all communities. It’s a tremendous honor and privilege to recognizes them this year.” shares Crime Stoppers of Houston CEO Rania Mankarious.

For 40 years, Crime Stoppers of Houston has focused on solving crime through the famed Tip Line, 713-222-TIPS and reducing overall criminal activity by preventing it through educational community programming. The non-profit which fundraises year-round will directly benefit from the luncheon’s proceeds to help further advance the Crime Stoppers’ mission. Attending the 2021 Houston’s Heroes Awards Luncheon is one easy way to support Crime Stoppers and public safety.

The event is open to participation by all. Individual tickets start at $175 and sponsorship opportunities are available:

$25,000 – Safety Partner

$10,000 – Safety Champion

$7,500 – Safety Supporter

$5,000 – Safety Friend

$2,500 – Friend

$500 – Sponsoring Couple

Please note: Due to Covid-19, the event will be a hybrid event and we are urging the community to still get involved. To purchase tickets, GO HERE.
