When finding enough workers to keep the doors open becomes the biggest challenge of any small business, Montgomery Area Chamber is bringing the job seekers to the table… literally!  Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting a premier Job Fair at Lone Star Community Center in Montgomery on February 1, 2022, from 9am – 4pm.

Business closures and unpredictable hours are often a result of lack of employees.

“Businesses are hurting all across the community to connect with trustworthy and reliable workers.  We are excited to bring this much needed resource to the Montgomery Area as we connect job seekers with these businesses to see our community thrive!” Sheri McBride, owner of Lolli’s Laser Engraving and planning team member for the upcoming event.

Employers represent everything from healthcare to hospitality and everything in between.

The Job Fair will host businesses across the spectrum from skilled and trained positions to entry level jobs with zero training necessary.  Industries include manufacturing/skilled labor/ production; medical/healthcare; professional/administrative/clerical; food service/hospitality/event planning; retail/customer service; outside/inside sales; and technology.

Shannan Reid, Executive Director of Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce explains, “The Montgomery community continues to grow and with that comes many potential job seekers looking to make a real connection for a career.  It is not just about the after-school part time gig or summer seasonal job.  We want to make all kinds of great connections for our employers as well as our residents!”

Job Seekers attend for free.

There is no charge or pre-registration for the job seekers at this event, but the chamber will have a registration table at the entrance just to collect some attendance information for their records.  All attendees should plan to bring updated resumes and dress in a professional manner.  Veterans are encouraged to attend.

As a bonus, some of our Montgomery Area Chamber members will be serving as mini mentors if anyone would like to chat or brush up on some quick tips for making a good first impression.  This service is optional and is just one more way that Montgomery Area Chamber can give back and serve the community.  “Being out of the workforce for a time or just looking for a new job at any stage in life can be an intimidating process.  We want this Job Fair to be a positive experience for the job seekers as well as for our local businesses.” LaTricia Bostic, owner of Bostic’s Consulting and planning team member for the Job Fair.

Registration is required for all employers and space is limited.

The Job Fair will be reflecting a cross section of all types of employment, so it is imperative that employers jump in early to secure their tables.  The Community Center holds up to 50 employer tables comfortably in the main event room, and the spaces will be gone quick.  Interested employers should make plans early to reserve their spot in the event.  Sponsorships for this high-profile event are also in great demand as businesses seek to differentiate themselves from the pack to be viewed as leaders in the community.  Employer tables are automatically included for all sponsors.

Details can be found on the chamber’s website for job seekers as well as business registration and sponsorship opportunities.

Deadline for Employer Table Registration is Friday, January 14, 2022.  All registered businesses will be listed on the event page as they are confirmed.  Sponsors will be updated regularly to reflect all participating businesses.
