The folks from Houston Clean Venues andamp; Events have announced the return of Comicpalooza live and in-person to Houston's George R. Brown Convention Center, May 22 and 23. If all goes as planned, Houston's Comicpalooza promises to be an unforgettable event for young and old alike. It's your one chance to completely geek out on all your favorite comic book, sci-fi, anime, gaming and pop-culture everything without fear of gawkery.

Comicpalooza is the largest annual, multi-genre convention of its kind in the Southern United States and is held right here, in Houston, Texas. At Comicpalooza you’re always in good company. Go ahead, get your cosplay costume (don’t forget the face covering!) and get ready to be transported into a pop-culture extravaganza at Comicpalooza. From panels discussing an array of fan topics, to an exhibition floor featuring unique art and handcrafted goods from artists, to #starstruck moments with our celebrity line-ups, to a thrilling cosplay competition featuring some of our fans, and so much more, there is never a dull moment at Comicpalooza.

With so many different activities going on throughout the show, the folks at Comicpalooza want to make sure you enjoy the weekend with ease. Houston held its first Comicpalooza, for about 500 attendees, in 2008 at the Alamo Drafthouse Theater in Katy. Within two years, interest had grown to the point where it had to be moved to downtown’s George R. Brown Convention Center. By 2019, the number of attendees exploded to almost 46,000 people from across the country and across the globe!

Sadly, like so many other events across the Houston area and the world, the 2020 edition of Comicpalooza was cancelled in 2020, during Houston's historic hunker-down and mask-up orders. Now, with things seemingly looking at least a little better, if the nightly news and daily pressers are to be taken at face-value, the folks at Comicpalooza have made their intentions clear. The 2021 event will happen, and safety protocols will be in full effect. Tickets are on sale here and exhibitor spaces available here. I mean, if everyone shows up in full cosplay with masks and all, what can go wrong?

So whats on tap for this year's Comicpalooza? Is it just a bunch of celebrities sitting around signing autographs? Hell no! Comicpalooza is more than cool celebrities. They have panels covering a variety of popular topics, fun family activities, entertaining acts throughout the weekend, immersive experiences, a live art auction, an interactive gaming area, a cosplay competition, and more!

You'll have the opportunity to shop merchandise from artists and craftsmen selling their unique handmade products to resellers with all kinds of cool merchandise and rare collectibles, If you walk through the Comicpalooza Exhibit Hall, there is no way you will walk out empty-handed!

There are events galore. Nothing provides more fun than a great show. Over the past few years, Comicpalooza has had plenty of entertainment to choose from. Live performances from magicians, fire breathers, and wicked cool ice sculptors dazzled the festival halls. Venues were filled with comedians, dancers, cosplayers, and musicians that entertained late into the night.

All this and so much more awaits at Comicpalooza 2021. Dress up, show up, geek out!
