KNOWAutism Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to helping families of children with autism to navigate the process of diagnostics, treatment, intervention, and education, with Co-chairs Ayesha Rashid, MD and Yoon Smith are hosting the 7th Annual “As I am” Luncheon, a virtual and in-person event at the Junior League of Houston, on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. Proceeds from the luncheon benefit the organization’s Scholarship Fund.
KNOWAutism Board Chairman Amy Pierce will emcee the luncheon and welcome guests to celebrate the Foundation’s success in providing programs and scholarships to hundreds of children and their families impacted by autism. Guests will hear a testimony from a KNOWAutism family and grant recipient and have the opportunity to enter a champagne raffle for a one-of-a-kind prize.
During the luncheon, the inaugural Sippi and Ajay Khurana Houston Heroes Awards will honor community leaders who are committed to KNOWAutism’s mission: no child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to be left untreated due to lack of information, awareness or financial resources.
Houston Heroes Award recipients include: Corporate Heroes Renee and Alan Helfman of Helfman Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, Ram, Fiat; Community Heroes Reagan and Alex Bregman of Bregman Cares Charity and Houston Astros; and Frontline Hero Renee Rodriguez D’Souza, M.D. of The Meyers Center at Texas Children’s Hospital.
KNOWAutism invites everyone to join virtually or in-person to support its mission by purchasing individual tickets and underwrite tables.
